Babafemi holds an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree from Adekunle Ajasin University (formerly Ondo State University) in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, and a BL (Barrister-at-Law) Practice Certificate from the Nigerian Law School, Council of Legal Education. Babafemi is pursuing his LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree program at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Nigeria.   • Babafemi led the team that assisted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in tracking and recovering multimillion-naira assets diverted from a client, specifically an oil drilling and diving company, by two members of its management team.
  • Babafemi has frequently assisted clients in processing and initiating various asset tracking and recovery efforts at the EFCC and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for corporate organizations and private individuals who are victims of fraud or Ponzi schemes.
  • Babafemi led the team that advised on, drafted court documents, initiated, and secured a Mareva Injunction (Freezing Order) at the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, against a multinational shipping corporation to prevent it from moving its assets outside the jurisdiction on behalf of a client in a significant debt recovery suit.
  • Babafemi supervised and provided legal advice to a multinational association of distillers and whisky brands regarding applying for and registering a certification trademark in Nigeria. He interfaced with regulatory agencies such as NAFDAC and SON about protecting its brands.
  • Babafemi has advised and handled immigration documentation for expatriate clients while providing strong representation before immigration authorities.
  • Babafemi has represented a client, an oil drilling company, in the argument of appeal briefs filed at the Court of Appeal, Lagos Judicial Division, concerning a dispute that arose at the Federal High Court, Lagos, over a multi-million Naira tripartite oil drilling and servicing agreement.
  • Babafemi has advised, supervised, and diligently prosecuted trademark and passing-off disputes on behalf of a multinational association of distillers and whisky brands at the Federal High Court, Lagos Division. He argued several interlocutory applications and secured and executed Anton Piller Orders against the counterparty concerning infringing materials on behalf of his client.
  • He led the team that advised, initiated, and prosecuted winding-up proceedings on behalf of a client against a company concerning disputes arising from its inability to settle its debts. He secured an interlocutory order against the company related to the proceedings and drafted and argued various counter-processes in the interlocutory matter.
  • Babafemi has actively and diligently defended a multinational oil and gas drilling and services conglomerate in a multi-million Naira tax dispute initiated by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in the Federal High Court, Lagos Division.
  • Babafemi advised and defended a client, a shipowner, in a negligence dispute stemming from an injury related to a seaman’s employment contract while on board a ship at the National Industrial Court, Port Harcourt Division. He provided guidance and drafted the preliminary objection to the suit.
  • Babafemi was part of the team that advised, initiated, and prosecuted actions on behalf of a conglomerate of clients in asserting their proprietary rights and claims against Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON)’s acquisition of their respective properties within Victory Park Estate, Lagos, at the Lagos State High Court. He drafted and argued several counter-processes in response to the various objections raised by AMCON.
  • Babafemi supervised the team representing a multinational company client in an arbitration proceeding concerning a breach of a multi-million Naira commercial agreement involving two shipping companies.
